Want to learn how to sketch outdoor scenes or improve your drawing skills?
Here is a weekend opportunity to learn while connecting with other artists on a three day workshop. Sketch local scenes in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Instruction will be geared toward the level of experience. Beginners as well as advanced artists welcomed.
Four (3) hour outdoor sketching sessions will be held as follows.
Friday * 12:30 to 1:30 Visit Ogunquit Museum of American Art $10 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Sketch outside gardens and pond at Ogunquit Museum of American Art 4:30pm to 5:00 pm Review before heading to Hotel
Saturday 9 to 12 Sketch Perkins Cove - Ogunquit 12 to 1:30 Break for Lunch 1:30 to 4:30 Sketch Boats at Perkins Cove Basin Harbor 4:30 to 5:00 30 min Review * 5:45 Cocktail Cruise aboard Finestkind $22 Cash bar
Sunday 9 to 12:00 Sketch Nubble Light- York 12:00 to 12:30 Final Review
Only required supplies to bring are a 9 x 12 sketch pad, Drawing pencils 2B, 4B & 6B.
New drawing tools, mediums and papers will be supplied to provide opportunity to expand your knowledge and experiment.
If weather does not permit us to sketch outdoors, we will have indoor venues arranged along with classroom workshops.
Group size is limited to eight, so please sign up early. Rooms will be held until September 10th and can be reserved by completing form checking either 1st or 2nd box, under accommodations.
We will stay at the Ogunquit Hotel & Suites at 719 Main St., in Ogunquit, Maine. ( a 45 minute drive north of Newburyport).
Discounted Group Room Rates are reasonably priced (Two Queen Rooms are $119 a night plus tax ). Continental breakfast is included. Hotel is within 15 mins drive to sketching locations. We encourage carpooling to locations.
Check in time is 3:00pm ( unless early check in arranged) Upon arrival at the hotel individual credit card info will need to be given, as currently rooms are being held with my credit card info.
